Sorry for being idle for so long.
I've returned and cleaned up my gallery a bit, and also got in a few new deviations (as you may have seen).

it is a strange bird
this world

whose habit is
to fight itself

whose left wing
and right wing

tear themselves
bitterly apart

both on the side
of justice and violence

and whose great beak
gobbles the poor

I just though I'd share that beautiful poem with you guys. You might see something inspired by this in my other account. Maybe.

CRISIS!

4 min read
Here's a journal entry posted by the founders of the Crisis projects. I couldn't agree more with what is being said, and I hope you take time to read it.
crisisproject.deviantart.com/j… to the original journal entry.

"Today I had the brief pleasure of receiving a Daily Deviation for my latest work, an extremely large mural that I had been working on for weeks. By about 2 pm, it was revoked by the 'higher ups' of Deviant Art's elite.

The reason: The deviation violated section 7. E. of the Submission Policy –"the Artist Materials do not and will not violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation."

Because I did not own the building I put the mural up on, nor had permission, it was deemed an illegal act and therefore not eligible for receiving the 'Daily Deviation' honour.

This is an open letter to the powers that be at Deviant Art.

To whom it may concern,

It has come to my attention that you are unfamiliar with the term, "Hypocrite" so here is the exact definition from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

Main Entry: hyp•o•crite
Pronunciation: 'hi-p&-"krit
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English ypocrite, from Anglo-French, from Late Latin hypocrita, from Greek hypokritEs actor, hypocrite, from hypokrinesthai

1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion
2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

I believe you should pay attention to the second definition: "a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings." Why? Because that explanation is a pristine definition of your actions.
Any person, let alone an education person, or in your case, an international art community founder, is well aware that Street Art, or "Graffiti" refers to a form of art that is predominantly found on spaces that the artist does not own, or have legal access to.

With that said, here is another dictionary entry from Merriam-Webster's Dictionary:

Main Entry: 2graffiti
Function: noun
Etymology: Italian, plural of graffito

: usually unauthorized writing or drawing on a public surface

DeviantArt happens to have a very active 'Street Art' section of its community, and by definition, and general common sense, that section would be filled with thousands upon thousands of submissions of ,"unauthorized writing or drawing on a public surface."

So how can you justify removing my 'Daily Deviation" because it was on an unauthorized public space, when your entire Street Art gallery, by definition and by obvious evidence, goes against your own Submission Policy?

You are one of, if not the leading, art community in the world, and yet you can sit idly behind your legal guidelines only to break them yourself? How can any artists respect you when you pick and choose what rules you want to enforce, and what rules you want to follow?

You have an obligation to every Deviant to take a stance on this issue, and either abolish the entire 'Street Art 'category of Deviant Art, or to amend your Submission Guidelines to allow street art as a allowable submission.

I understand this might put you in a compromising position; on one hand you have all the advertising dollars you surely don't want to lose by closing a section of your website down, and on the other, you would leave yourself open to some imagined legal implication.

If you do decide to do nothing, as I expect you will, I hope you are happy with what you have become: another institution who has sold its soul for the almighty advertising dollar.

To all other street artists out there on Deviant Art, or anyone else who is sympathetic to this issue, I urge you to spread this letter as far and wide as you can, post it in the forums, send it to the help desk, put it in your journals. This affects you, and the community, as much as it does myself."
